What YOU need to know about LBC's Biblical Parenting Support Classes
Why Should You Join Us For This Class?
Parenting is not for the faint of heart. It is one of the most challenging tasks we face and it is made all the more challenging due to the fact that it never really ends. The demands of a parent just keep coming. This can lead to a "reactive" or "survival" mentality which settles for keeping kids alive and safe instead of working for their spiritual growth and maturity. This class is intended to come alongside parents and ENCOURAGE THEM in the task as well as HELP THEM think biblically about this great responsibility that God has given them.
What Will We Do?
The classes will primarily focus on three things: 1. Teaching of biblical principles for raising our children 2. Encouragement and discussion for specific parenting challenges 3. Providing helpful biblical resources for raising children
What Will You Teach?
Aside from the Bible, we will be using the book, Shepherding a Child's Heart, as our primary resource.
Where Will You Meet?
We will be meeting in Lakeside's Fellowship Hall. Lakeside Baptist Church is located at 615 11th Ave. North, North Myrtle Beach.
When Will You Meet?
The support classes will be offered from 6 – 7:30 on Sunday evenings for 10 weeks beginning on the first Sunday of June and ending on August 13th (if you're counting, we will be skipping Father's Day). We encourage all those who can to attend, even if they will have to miss multiple weeks.
How Much Does it Cost?
The only cost for the class is $15/person which covers the cost of the book and some supplementary resources.
What About the Kids?
Lakeside will be providing free Christ-centered instruction and care for kids 12 and under during the class.
